developed a chip inside after two years. Company non-responsive
I bought his pan because the interior was supposed to be really durable, even allowing the use of metal implements if you wished. While I've never done that, i still have a chip on the inside after two years of use. Writing to the company has resulted in silence. Other than that, it cooks well. Not worth the price, however, if manufacturer does not stand behind their warranty...
Scanpan Professional 3-Quart Covered Saucepan
Excellent pan! Love to cook my meat pasta sauce in this. I sautee the onions/garlic/peppers first, then set them aside. Next, I brown the ground beef, drain, and put everything back in the pot along with some spices. Add crushed tomatoes and simmer for a couple of hours. Put the pot in the fridge and enjoy the leftover sauce the next day after rewarming on the gas burner. Cleanup is easy with warm running water and a nylon bristle brush, paper towel dry. The little handle mitt is a nice touch. The handle on the lid gets very hot, and a mitt for that would have been nice. I also would much prefer GLASS lids, so I can see what I am doing. In fact, I often use a glass lid from a matching-diameter pot in my collection. In the description you find "Scanpan Professional pans are safe for any burner type, including induction ..." Please take CAUTION with the "induction" word, as these pots do NOT work by themselves with my Duxtop 8100MC induction burner. You would need the Max Burton...
scanpan is great
I purchased this for my daughter for Christmas and I know she will love it because she loves coming home and cooking with mine. Scanpan is as advertised, nothing sticks. I've had scanpan skillets for several years and they haven't chipped or scratched and they are still non stick. I will never own another non stick brand. Pricey but worth as they last for years.
